During the 1950s there were several wars that occurred or started in this decade that included the Cold War, the Korean War and even some of the Vietnam War. America was very worried about communist during this time which would lead to the Truman Doctrine which was to help other countries that were not safe from the communist countries. Joseph McCarthy accused people in the Truman and Eisenhower administration of being Communists. Communism was very unliked in America and we would do anything to stop it during this era because it threatened America its self and our allies.
I will look into to researching more because I find this very interesting since my mom was in Cambodia during the Vietnam War and she had to deal with communism.
