Last Blog for the Semester
I learned so much from my research paper that was on the effects of the Vietnam War. This was a topic that actually intrested me unlike some of my past research papers. One thing I learned about was the protesting. In America protesting could get violent and sometimes lives would be lost because of the stuppidest reasons. The National Guard would come in and sometimes end up having to shot which would end up injuring or killing. While over in Vietnam there was a more gruesome way of protest than in America. Buddhist Monks would lite themselves on fir in protest of the violence and bloodshed of the war. Though they had calmer ways to protest this showed how much they were against the war. Protesting effected many things and really showed people how bad the war was. Also, I learned that the United States spent billions of dollars on the war and dropped millions of pounds of explosives down on Vietnam. How Vietnam did not get obliterated is something I am astonished by. Much of Vietnam's land was destroyed by these bombs and also the sprays that killed the vegitation of Vietnam that America used. There are still areas in Vietnam that have unxploded bombs and mines, which makes Vietnam still unsafe in and near jungle areas. The Veitnam War was one of the bloodiest wars and had an effect like no one could imagine.

Romantic Poem Reflection
Snowbound is an original romantic poem that incorporates a sense of a beauty. Snowbound has very good detail and puts a vivid picture into the readers brain. It's a good way of showing how a romantic poem should be written. As the kids go out and shovel for their dad they have a jolly of a time as they work. They also make a tunnel which resembles Aladin's cave. As they settle inside next to a fire they bond with eachother in a loving family environment.

What Were You Thinking, Edgar?
As the walls closed in on me I braced my arms out to stop them. Yet right as I made contact with the walls they stopped immediately. I looked around to see what had miraculously just happened and as I did I heard screams of terror and fright. Than all of a sudden silence struck as quietly as a fish swims through water. I waited for what felt like hours for a noise, any noise, but I could hear nothing. And in instant. BOOM. There was an enormous explosion. My ears rang as a flew to the ground from the tremendous force of what ever had exploded. As I came to my senses I still had a ringing in my ears and as i looked down I realized that i could move nothing from my neck down. I had become paralyzed. As i realized this I screamed for anyone or anything to hear me and it payed off. General Lasalle came walking in through the dusty room now brightened by the hole mad from the explosion. "General," I said, "Thank God you've come. I am paralyzed and I need help." He looked at me with a look of awe and said, "I am sorry, but our efforts were useless." And at that he collapsed forward and behind was another man that had stabbed him in the back. As i thought I was saved I realized I was helpless. The man walked over and whispered into my ear a language i have never heard of before. He than stood up and razed his dagger. As he did i closed my eyes and prayed for my life. Than all of a sudden he had collapsed on me. I realized he just stabbed himself and at this I yelled once again in terror and for something to get me. Days without food and water with the smell of rotting bodies stuck to you with the grip of a god. And what i believe to be the fourth day a lad came in and put me on his back and brang me to a home with a small family. He told me he would return to care for me. Yet he never returned to care for me as I would sit around with a lifeless body hoping he would so I could thank the rescuer of my life.

Reflections on The Crucible
In The Crucible every character plays a major part. What one character does really affects what the other characters do and how there life will turn out after all of this stuff happens. Characters such as Abigail accuse other characters for her wrong doings saying they are a part of witchcraft which than turns the whole thing into a big thing of drama. If Abigail would have just told the truth from the beginning she wouldn't be in such a big hole and when they find out shes lieing she will be in bigger trouble than she would be if she told the truth. Also the judges accuse people on what they think is true and they don't look at evidence either which doesn't help the case either. Many innocent lives were killed all because Abigail couldn't tell the truth.
Political climate of the 1950s

During the 1950s there were several wars that occurred or started in this decade that included the Cold War, the Korean War and even some of the Vietnam War. America was very worried about communist during this time which would lead to the Truman Doctrine which was to help other countries that were not safe from the communist countries. Joseph McCarthy accused people in the Truman and Eisenhower administration of being Communists. Communism was very unliked in America and we would do anything to stop it during this era because it threatened America its self and our allies.

Puritan Plain Style
The other day some one tripped and all of their books dropped all over the ground. Everyone just kept walking and minded their own business instead of helping this person out. As I was watching a teacher came by and helped him pick up his stuff and like this teacher did we need to go out of our way to help others. God helps us up all the time in our hardships. Like the teacher, God will always come by and pick you up while everyone else just keeps walking on by. God will always be by your side no matter what.
They All Played a Part .
William Bradford was elected governor of Plymouth and was re-elected nearly every year there after. IN 1623 he married a widow and had a marriage feast very reminiscent of the "first" thanksgiving with many Indians that joined. He was the head of the government of Plymouth, oversaw the courts, the colony's finances, corresponded with investors and neighbors, formulated policy with regards to foreighners, Indians, and law. Bradford had a very active role in running the colony. In 1630 he he started writing the history of the Plymouth Colony which would later be called "Of Plymouth Plantation." He lived a long life being born in 1590 and dieing May 9, 1657. He was a great contributer to the start of America.

Journals of Discovery
The journal I decided to reflect on was the journal "Of Plymouth Plantation." The area I choose to reflect on was their hardships. Each and every colony had there similar hardships they went through but the people that arrived on the Mayflower in this journal arrived during the winter. They could go on land but it was to hard for them to start an area of living because of all the snow on the ground so they had to stay on the ship and eat what little and old food they had. Once winter was over and they began settling they had some mini battles with the Indians. Also with in two to three months of arrival half of the company had died so they were left with only fifty people out of a hundred. While all of this is happening Indians would still stuff from the settlers on a consistent basis. All in all they faced the same hardships as other settlers had when they came to the new area.

Native American Culture Blog

The love for each other that Native Americans have for there culture is great. They still have great beliefs about things in nature. Carrying things down from their ancestors such as stories and beliefs are a major part of their culture. Many ceremonies are still held also.
